Gitta Pielcke / Jewelry

Gitta Pielcke

1964 Born in Hamburg, Germany
1987–1991 Hanau State Academy
Since 1991 Has been running her atelier, located today in Augsburg

With her Gecko necklace created in 1994 and her Frogs necklace designed in 1996 Gitta Pielcke took a stand against the austere jewelry design prevailing at the time. Also, she wants her rings – designed as small, naturalist sculptures – to look irregular, as if grown naturally. For the pieces of her nature collection created in 1998 she kneads the individual elements such as little flowers, buds or calyxes from soft wax and combines them in such a manner that a ring band is superfluous. In the year 2000 her occupation with Nature led her to create her Flower necklaces that feature dried and pressed flowers sealed in transparent plastic. One of these pieces was bought by the Grassi Museum in Leipzig in 2001.
